Guidelines

Tell us your stories from the world of Brent Hayward's Filaria.

Your story must be firmly set in the world of Filaria. A story in some underground city isn't good enough. That said, it can take place during the events of the book, just before, a thousand years later, whatever.
1,000 words or less (word processor count excluding title and byline).
One entry per person.
DEADLINE: All entries must be received by ~~December 21, 2008~~ February 28, 2009 at Midnight (EST).

Prizes

There will be three prizes award, with all three stories being published in the April–June, 2009 issue of ChiZine^*.

FIRST PLACE: Payment at the rate of $0.25/word for publication in ChiZine.
SECOND PLACE: Signed, limited edition hardcover copy of The Tel Aviv Dossier by Lavie Tidhar & Nir Yaniv, CZP's third title.
THIRD PLACE: Trade paperback edition of Bob Boyczuk's Horror Story and Other Horror Stories.

* The first place story will remain online for 90 days, but can be removed by request of the author after that 90 days. Second and third place winners can have their stories removed, by request of the author, at any time. All stories will remain archived for one year.

Please note, this contest does not release ChiZine Publications nor Brent Hayward from their copyrights. As these stories deal with copyrighted material, you are NOT eligible to submit them to other markets.

Submitting

E-mail your entry as a Rich Text Format (.rtf) or Microsoft Word (.doc) attachment to savory@rogers.com.
- Do not embed your story in the e-mail.
- Stories sent to any other address will be deleted.
The subject of your e-mail must be "Submission: Enter the World of Filaria".
